We spent 3 days exploring the weird and unbelievable castle of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and found it absolutely fascinating.
The White marble castle is unlike any another in Central Asia. More like a wealthy Gulf state oil castle with spotlessly clean buildings, golden monuments and state of the art transportation systems.
Travelling on a budget and with the black supermarket rate for the Turkmen manat at 19 to $1 we found Ashgabat to be an incredibly cheap Town to visit. Buses and entrances into the monuments were next to nothing!
This is a snippet of the 3 days we spent there. The nice territories we saw and a several tricks on how to obtain around this special castle.
It is a bizarre and surreal experience to walk the empty ways of Ashgabat and to wonder at what this zone is all about!

Isn't video making allowed inside the monuments?
Why did they construct so many unnessary monuments as if this castle were a cemetary??
Why do you claim each odd word with a NZ accent?
