On June 28, 2016, four dudes went on an offshore fishing trip out of Charleston, SC. They just purchased a used 2006 Sea Pro and this was their first trip offshore with it. The hull apparently started coming apart slowly throughout the day. At the end of the day, on their idea home, the hull split apart and the boat started taking on water. The boat capsized within mins and flipped over. As they went under the boat for the life jackets they grabbed two epirbs, a ditch bag, a fishing rod and a GoPro. They mounted the GoPro to the fishing rod and started filming. Both epirbs were activated, however, one of them fell in the water and got away. Luckily, they held onto the last epirb and the Coast Guard was on stage 40 mins later. A Nice Samaritan Boat then came and took everyone aboard. Finally, they were transferred to a USCG Cutter and returned to Charleston. If they would not of had an ePirb this should have ended up very differently.

this is why launch water scares the shit out of me i will never go into launch water
I like how that nice Samaritan boat showed up to support out which was very great of them! You usually hear nice stories about how boaters at sea are usually supporting every another out. Still some great recipients in the globe. So what happens to a boat like that? Is it just left there to rot? Would it eventually just break up and sink?
terrible ass mofo that dude that jumped out
YES MY COAST GUARD IS OUTSTANDING !! VERY PROUD OF YOU GUYS..... CARRY ON !!
8:20 "Ha, I jumped in and there was a tiny shark following me." Just a regular day at the office for that coast guard rescue swimmer. Nice thing he was wearing a life jacket because otherwise his balls of steel would sink.
Imagine that epirb falls while pulling it out of your bag and sinks. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Coastie‘s are living the life
how you guys doing? should be a tiny better LMFAO
they are smart they had equipment to call support. Just not so lucky with the boat buy. If you have no such equipment and ships sinks you become a dot in ocean. And after some time nobody will search you
I would go DIRECTLY to whoever sold me this boat for a "talk".
