In this video I will present you how to fix short bitten nails with acrylic and forms.
Onychophagia or nail biting, is a common oral compulsive habit in babes and adults.
Biting nails can lead to broken skin on the cuticle. When cuticles are improperly removed, they are susceptible to microbial and viral infections such asparonychia.
Medical literature reports topics of fingernails being severely deformed after years of nail biting.
The finest idea of treatment in most topics is to visit psychotherapist periodically.
However most times nail biters look for support from us, nail technicians.
Typical nail biter’s nails are usually thin and small, with thick skin on lateral walls and dry cuticles. Sculpting on this type of nails is usually a challenge even for experienced nail tech.
Using tricks will not support – they will peal off in less than a week and the trouble will not be solved.
There is a solution; we can use forms and premium metallic hardeners to sculpt great nails and fix even super bitten short nails. Follow steps of this "Nail biter transformation" guide and search out how.
1. First prep the natural nail: gently push back the cuticle, shorten the nonpaid edge, and take off the surface shine with 180 grit file.
Prep the form. Stick the metal sealer from underneath the form. Slash the shape of the form according to the shape of the nonpaid edge of natural nail with sharp manicure scissors. Slash the extra zone in the corners in order to fit the form easier. Select the C-curve software depending on the width of natural nail. Create sure it is not too wide or too narrow. Shape the surface of the form with the metal sealer underneath over the C-curve software.
2. Sculpt the nail bed zone with camouflage acrylic powder.
3. Sculpt the nonpaid edge with light purple color powder.
4. Take off the form and slightly pinch the nail.
5. File and buff the nail.
6. Cover the nail with Glaze ‘N Go and cure.
