Hours of cock and ball torture? Jesus Christ, what a trooper.
NOOOOO... this is NOT 10 minute CBT. This could be named "Short interview for depression in primary care." And the title shows an utter lack of knowledge of what the "B" is in CBT. The "B" is for "behavioral" - in CBT you teach the client to challenge self-defeating ideation and DOING things - behaving. It's... well, it's efficient but it's certainly not a 10 minute thing. CBT would have an intervention - I know of no 10 minute intervention during initial interview. Once the relationship is established and you know how depressed the client is, etc., then you can give a technique in 10 mins - in the context of another psychoeducation. Also, the doctor makes far too many vocalizations; this can be off-putting to the client. She believes she is showing empathy, but this is role-test and not true life. If it were a true interview, you would be able to see how those tiny vocal sounds now interrupt the flow of that the patient is claiming. They can be quite off-putting. SILENCE IS GOLDEN. Let the patient to talk, DO NOT create those tiny sounds to present your empathy - she KNOWS you have empathy. You asked about the depression. You are LISTENING. Just... be quiet and listen. Although it is useful to explain to the patient that her feelings are typical of depressed mood, the explanation is more potent within the context of broader stats. Explaining that many newest mothers have these feelings because of the results of hormones on their brains as well as sleep disturbance and the utter upheaval of a newest baby is very useful. No matter how much they have heard about postpartum mood disturbance, there's a tiny voice in their self narrative that Claims them THEY are different and THEY are terrible mothers, etc. You need to claim them this - ALL of it. The production of this video is well-intentioned, but you required a cognitivist to write the script - and it would never be identified as "managing depression in 10 mins." That's absurd. Nice run of an effort - but missing so much. Check again, please! I hate to criticize - but even worse for me would be someone suffering depression watching this and wondering why they don't obtain anything out of it. There's nothing here.
