The Tojiro DP Gyuto review (Fujitora),

In this video, I'm reviewing the Tojiro DP Gyuto knife also named Fujitora in Japan. The Tojiro Gyuto used in this video is a 210mm (8.2 inches) knife. This one is $77 on Amazon, the Tojiro Gyuto of 180mm (7.1 inches) is around $60 to $70 on Amazon.

Tojiro knives on Amazon:

The Tojiro Gyuto is better than a Zwilling, Wusthof and Global knives in terms of edge retention and sharpness. However, it is not as durable since VG10 steel is brittle and prone to chipping if used incorrectly.

If you can search the 180mm (7.1 inches) for around $60 to $70 and that contains shipping then I highly suggest this knife.

The Tojiro Gyuto 210mm for $75 to $85 is an absolute steal.

Tojiro 8.2 inches (210mm) can be purchased on Amazon:

The Tojiro DP Gyuto review (Fujitora) specs:

Weight: 200g
Handle: Western Full Tang
Rivets: 3
Handle length: 105mm
Blade length: 210mm
Blade width: 47mm
Thickness: 1.8mm
(measurements might be off by 0.1mm)
Core Material: VG10
HRC: 60

If you search the Tojiro knives above the mentioned price then it is better to look further for another Japanese brands. The Tojiro or Fujitora is mainly interesting because of their cheap price mark.

Unfortunately for European customers, you won't search this knife for the same price as in America or Japan. You will absolutely have to pay a super of minimal $120 for the 180mm that cost around $60 in America and Japan.

Hi, Can you please compare wusthof ikon versus tojiro dp chef knife?

Oscar Roberto Brouwer

Thank you for other nice video: at the end you recommend that If you're in Europe (which I am) you look for other japanese knife in the same price genre that might be better. which do you mean? Do you have a suggestion? thanks!

1:18 - the spine thickness is 1.8 millimeters, not centimeters! 1.8 cm or 18 mm roughly equal to 3/4 of an inch! A knife that thick would be unusable.

Thank you for the nice content.

your suggestion The Tojiro DP Gyuto or Yaxell mon Gyuto?

S Rawdon

Ive been enjoying one of these. The fit and finish of the handle is not great. There are some slight imperfections in the edge of the black materal where it meets the choil/bolster zone. The blade is nice and the overall feel of the knife is nice. The top edge is not rounded like some more expensive knives. Overall to me it seems like a nice blade with more of a budget fit and finish. A nice buy if you know what to expect.

Nice video, congratulations!

You didn't mention how this compares to Chinese knives that you've tested. Can you either create a video about that or respond to this? Thanks. Love your videos, very informative.
