“After the Call” offers a glimpse into the lifesaving work of five Suicide Prevention Coordinators (SPCs) — who share their true stories about the work they do each day to help Veterans and their loved ones. Veterans are referred to SPCs through either the Veterans Crisis Line or VA Medical Centers for support navigating VA’s network of care. Veterans dealing with mental health conditions and hard life meetings and experiences can call on any of the 300 SPCs nationwide to obtain connected with the most appropriate treatment and help plan.
VA has built the Nation’s huge, most comprehensive mental health care and suicide prevention tool to end Veteran suicide. This integrated effort connects Veterans and their families with services and help across VA through VA Medical Centers, Vet Centers, outpatient clinics, and SPCs.
